Following the blockbuster success of Leo, Lokesh Kanagaraj joins hands with Rajinikanth this time for Coolie. The team has been very careful not to let out any major plot points. The trailer, featuring Rajinikanth in a violent avatar, helped build on the already increasing hype levels for the movie.

The ‘A’-certified Coolie is rumored to be part of the ‘Lokesh Kanagaraj Cinematic Universe’ (LCU). However, the makers have been firm in refuting these claims. The LCU factor remains a key talking point in the film’s massive business prospects, as Lokesh Kanagaraj’s previous four films have been widely celebrated for their interconnected storylines and recurring characters within the same cinematic universe. Coolie will be hitting theatres across the world on August 14. The movie will clash with Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR’s YRF spy actioner War 2, which is also scheduled for the Independence Day weekend.

Despite the surge, demand remains strong, with most Day 1 shows in Bengaluru and Chennai already sold out well in advance.

Coolie Movie Advance Booking and Day 1 Predictions

Coolie has dominated the box office race so far, leaving War 2 trailing by a wide margin in many cities. The film has already raked in over Rs 20 crore from advance bookings across India, selling approximately nine lakh tickets nationwide, with Tamil Nadu emerging as the biggest contributor. Globally, advance booking figures have crossed the Rs 50 crore mark, with no signs of the hype slowing down. Opening-day collections are expected to be in the range of Rs 100 crore.
